FAQ

Why are some paintings sold unframed, some as mounted & some as mounted & framed? When a painting is shown as framed and/or mounted, it has been exhibited.  Some unframed, but mounted, paintings may have been offered at exhibitions as ‘folios’.  (It is traditional for watercolour and pastel paintings to have a decorative card border between image and frame, leaving the choice of framing to the purchaser.)  For this reason, folios are sometimes offered at special prices at exhibitions.

Can I choose my own frame & mount? Should you wish to buy an unframed painting or mounted folio, professional mounting & framing of your choice can be arranged before delivery if you wish.  A price will be quoted at the time, but is normally around £70 at current rates.  Pre-payment for both painting & framing will be required.

Sizes: dimensions shown are currently those of the actual image. To estimate its eventual size when framed, add approximately 6.5 cm / 2.5 inches all around the image size.  We are working on soon being able to show framed paintings in their entirety, with mounts, frames & their overall framed size

Payment: artworks may be paid for by cheque, Paypal, credit/debit card or bank transfer. Postage & packing costs are not included in the price, but will be notified to the buyer as soon as we receive your request & the painting’s packed weight & destination are known.

Packaging & delivery: unframed paintings will be carefully rolled & posted in a strong cardboard tube. On arrival, gently unroll them & leave somewhere flat to rest for a couple of days. Delivery is usually via Royal Mail. Framed & glazed or mounted paintings will be carefully packed in a strong cardboard box & delivered by courier.
